how yc nanny is different

1:1 Coaching

At the heart of my agency is a legacy of personalized service, a tradition I, Kari, uphold. As a former nanny, I understand that finding the perfect match is about more than pay and location. I provide coaching before, during and after you choose your family including mediation and support once you are working with your new family.

DETAILED WORK AGREEMENTS

Every Work Agreement is customized for you personally in a one on one coaching session with me. You will approve every detail of your future employment before you ever arrive at your new position. Families are held to specific guidelines for pay, hours and more; ensuring your time and space is always respected.

INDEFINITE PLACEMENTS

YC Nanny always encourages long-term placements and never charges a recurring fees to families for nannies who stay with you for multiple years. Each placement lasts at least a year, with a six-week trial period - this is a big plus to nannies who hope to stay long-term with a family.

MEET YOUR nanny coach

I work one-on-one with every nanny to provide outstanding service and coaching to help you find the right family for you.

Every nanny works with me free of charge, I never take a cut or fee from my nannies and there is never any expense to you. My 30 years of experience in the industry and 20 years with YC Nanny have set me apart from other nanny agencies. You will work with me and only me every step of the way for as long as you and your family work together. I genuinely have a passion for helping nannies and I can’t do what I do without you.

FAQs

Do I need to relocate?

All of my jobs are live-in nanny jobs meaning you live with the family full time. Jobs are most often located in DC, NY and California although I also get jobs in Colorado, Hawaii, Texas and more. Depending on the jobs I have open when you apply, you will most likely need to relocate out of state to the job of your choice.

How do I get placed with a family?

You and only you pick the job, location and family. You will be provided with options to select the family of your choice and you and the families will interview one another. The interviews will take place via phone and video.

WHat is the trial period?

There is a six week trial period with every family to make sure everything is running smoothly and the family is a good fit. If for any reason issues arrive during this time, I will help you find a new family.

Who and what can I take with me?

You will be able to initially take a limited number of belongings with you to the hiring family home. Eventually you will be able to take more. Families will pay for your relocation including your driving and lodging expenses if you are bringing a car. You may not bring children, spouses, partners or pets under any circumstances. This is a solo position and people with family or pets should apply for a live-out position with an agency that supports live-out nannies.

What is the length of my commitment?

Your contract with the family will be one year from the date you arrive although many nannies choose to stay much longer. You have the ability to leave your contract during the trial period if there is an issue with the family you have selected. I do not hire nannies for summer or short-term positions.
